This is a yoga infused barre class. The slower tempo allows a focus on deep stretching and sculpting while flowing through a vinyasa (movement between poses in yoga, typically accompanied by regulated breathing).
This class will utilize resistance bands. Resistance bands have a multitude of benefits, in addition to the bands ability to strengthen muscles, they are easy to use. The use of resistance bands will create tension in the muscle causing the muscle to contract. The greater the resistance the harder the exercise becomes.
Yes, you will be sore after the first few classes, but you will also see some major results in little time, so stick with it! If you perform a barre workout 2-4 times a week, you will typically notice changes in as little as one month. Some of the changes may include an improved posture, thinner thighs, chiseled arms, a sculpted back, stronger core, flatter abs and a “perky” seat. Barre classes are incredibly effective at transforming women’s so-called “problem” areas.
